INNOVATION and YOU

“Innovation is the multi-stage process whereby organizations transform ideas into new products, service or processes, so in order to advance, compete and differentiate themselves successfully in their marketplace".

I know this above definition doesn’t suit all, so here let me explain,

In simple words Innovation is commonly defined as the "carrying out of new combinations" which include "the introduction of new goods, new methods of production, opening of new markets, the conquest of new sources of supply and the carrying out of a new organization of any industry". However, many scholars and governmental organizations have also given their own definition of this concept.

Some common element in the different definitions focus on newness, improvement and the spread. It is also often viewed as taking place through the provision of more-effective products, processes, services, technologies, art works or business models that innovators make available to markets, governments and society.

Basically Innovation is something original innovated by someone and is more effective. Innovation is related to invention but is not same as it this. innovation is more to involve the practical implementation of an invention ,hence to make a meaningful impact in a market or society, but here is a thing ,not all innovations require a new invention.

In Economics, management science, and other fields of practice and analysis, innovation is normally considered to be the result of a process that brings together various novel ideas in a way that they affect society. In industrial economics, innovations are usually created and found empirically from services to grow.

There are generally three basic phases for innovation.

These phases were:
1) idea generation
2) problem solving
3) implementation

Programs of organizational innovation are most frequently driven by improved quality of product, creation of new markets of that product, extension of the range of products, the reduced labor costs, improved production processes, reduced materials, reduced environmental damage because of that product, replacement of products or services, reduced energy consumption by the product.

These goals usually vary between improvements to products, processes and services and eliminate a popular myth that innovation deals mainly with new product development.

Most of the goals could apply to any organization for manufacturing facility, marketing company, hospital or government. innovation goals are successfully achieved or otherwise they depend greatly on the kind of environment that is prevailing in the organizations.

Also, failure can be developed in programs of innovations. The causes of failure have been widely researched and can vary considerably as per the innovation. Some causes will be external to the organization and outside its influence of control. Others will be internal and are ultimately within the control of the organization.

Internal causes of failure can be divided into causes that are associated with the cultural infrastructure and the causes associated with the process of innovation itself.

Common causes of failure within the innovation process in most organizations can be basically distilled into five types:

  • poor goal definition,
  • poor alignment of actions to goals,
  • poor participation in teams,
  • poor monitoring of results,
  • poor communication and access to information.

But don’t get demotivated with these failures . Never stop innovating because Innovation begins with you.

Here ending this with some good examples examples of Famous Innovators to cheer you up :

  • Steve Jobs starting developed the smartphone world with the iPad
  • Marie Curie made great researches on radioactivity
  • Elon Musk has been making great progress on luxurious electric cars
  • Ann Kiessling made plenty of findings on the area of biology.
  • Nikola Tesla worked on the production, transmission, and application of electric power.
  • Amanda Jones was the inventor of a vacuum method of canning.

And then the famous of all times…

  • Thomas Edison invented the incandescent electric light bulb!
